Traditional recipe

Fluffy, light oladii… You can enjoy them with sour cream, jam, berries, etc.

Here is the recipe for 30-35 oladii:
·         2 eggs
·         500 ml kefir
·         5 tbsp. sugar
·         1 tsp. salt
·         1 tsp. baking soda
·         200-250 g flour
·         Vegetable oil for frying
Beat eggs and sugar. Add salt, kefir and mix thoroughly. Add flour, baking soda, and make batter. Preheat the frying pan and add vegetable oil. Fry oladii until golden brown. Flip over and fry the other side till ready.

Unusual recipe: Banana oladii

·         2-3 overripe (it’s important!) bananas
·         2 eggs
·         1 cup kefir
·         ½ tsp. baking powder or soda
·         2 tbsp. sugar
·         ½ tsp. salt
·         2 tbsp. melted butter or vegetable oil
·         5-10 tbsp. flour
·         Vegetable oil for frying
Add baking powder (or soda) to kefir. Beat eggs, butter, salt and sugar. Add kefir with baking powder and mix.

Mash bananas with fork; you can cut one into small pieces. Mix banana puree with other ingredients, add flour until batter consistency is reached (batter should not flow from a spoon). Do not mix batter for too long as oladii will be tough. Put a frying pan on a medium flame. Fry with butter or vegetable oil until pancakes are golden brown on both sides. It won’t take a long time. Serve with sour cream or syrup.
